How tall is a NBA regulation hoop?

It is 10 feet. It was rumored that some teams raised the height of there rims so the NBA officials started checking rim heights every month. Now it is officially 10 ft.

How do you clear salary cap space on NBA Live 2005 in Dynasty mode?

Well I don't play NBA games, but here what I do in NHL games.

Go into the screen to dump players, and dump your worst players that you wouldn't play or you can't get anything in a trade for.

Also, release your top paid players to free agency, then resign them for lesser money.

We should send College Players to Play in FIBA Basketball. Agree?

1st of all College Players have heart and soul for the game.

2nd of all they don't have to worry about no salary.. Unlike the NBA players.

3rd of all College players don't have that Ego mentality when they play basketball.

4th FIBA is for Amateurs.. But I guess that's too late to say that now right..

Our NBA player have already been exposed and defeated..

USA is running out of sports that they dominate!!

We should send College Players to Play in FIBA Basketball. Agree?nba champions

I think sendingcollegeplayers is a great idea because they would have more respect for their opponent. I don't think the NBA players give any credit were credit is due. Lets face it, basketball is world wide. You don't expect to go undefeated all the time, especially with these European

teams. Its catch up time and I think it is great for the game of basketball.

We should send College Players to Play in FIBA Basketball. Agree?nba spurs ,nba teams

Hell no - Things are just getting interesting. Just cause you don't dominate doesn't mean you stop competing. The more the US lose, the more winning will mean. Players will desperately want to show up and be selected. The win will matter. yay for competition!
.
So, what was wrong with thecollegeplayers in 1992?

How about a mix ofcollegeand pro players - maybe the pros can teach respect and work ethic to thecollegeplayers?

The Greeks were pros - in their own country - but they played for their country unlike the US players who were waiting for the limo with Japanese *** for them to ****.
Thecollegeplayers were defeated too that's why we send the pros. The national teams have been using professionals before we sent them. Spain has Paul Gosol, Germany has Dirk Nowinski, Argentina has Manu Genobli, Carlos Delfino. We Americans hate to lose so we blame and insult the players that did go.
how old are you???

when we got beat cause of Coach Thompson, they decided back then to allow professionals, SINCE ALL THE OTHER COUNTRIES got to use professional players.....

Coach thompson did not allow Alonzo Morning to play in the Olympics. he let him practice with them. he said that morning was good enuff to play...

BUT he wanted Morning to prepare forcollegeso that he would be ready for the HOYAS%26gt; shouldnt the best from COllege play for the USA, yet the coach cared more about hiscollegeteam then the US%26gt; Coach Tompson was a racist pig.......

Coach K didnt coach at all, and just sent in subs...... so now YOU want to sendcollegeplayers to play against pro players from other countries.

you are fuking ignorant or under 16
The NCAA Champs wouldn't win the FIBA tournament. The other coutries are too talented. If we sent our best 8 players and filled the rest of the roster sports with great role players, we would win.
Sorry, I don't thinkcollegeplayers would have a chance. Too young. They don't have the experience or physical maturity.

The USA team lost at worlds not because they lacked talent. I think it was :

1) They only really played together for 2 months. They lack experience playing together so their team defense was weak. This was shown in the inability to shut down Greece's pick and roll game.

2) Despite being "built" to compete, there does seem to be a lack of a good outside shooting.

3) USA still plays too much 1 on 1. They need more time to develop an team offense.

This team was already competative (6 pts is not a huge loss).

A few adjustments (add a true shooter) and more team offence and defense practice and this team will be a real favorite, if not *the* favorite.
You are crazy...... Does it look like all the other teams are using their amatuers? Also we DIDNT SEND ARE BEST PLAYERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... SHAQ KOBE KG AND TD were all home so you all can shut up about this they had there best we didnt.
1st - If you think this team played w/o "heart and soul", you didn't watch a single minute of a single game. They played hard throughout. They just got beat by a better team.

2nd - NBA players andcollegeplayers all play for money, (Since the questioner misunderstood this statement, I'll clarify.) College players don't get paid, but there goal is to make the NBA so that they will. Hence my assertion that they all play for money.

3rd - As for your assertion thatcollegeplayers don't have that "ego mentality", where do you think the vast majority of NBA players come from...college. (More clarity) Those guys developed their egos after years of being held in high regard as "the man" of their pee wee, middle school, high school teams. They don't just magically develop once they get in the NBA.

4th - FIBA isn't for amateurs. Every FIBA team is made up of professionals. The NBA isn't the only professional league in the world. Greece didn't have any guys with NBA experience, but their starting center is considered to be the best pure center in Europe and the 6-5 point guard, The Octopus Man, is a European league MVP. (More clarity) The 'A' in FIBA may stand for 'amatuer', but no one sends amatuers anymore. FIBP just doesn't have that same pop to it as FIBA...LOL

If the NBA players have been exposed and defeated, what do you think will happen tocollegeplayers? Ourcollegeplayers would have their a$$es handed to them.
i've always been wary of single elimination games since a more superior team can have an off night and lose....given the less accurate shooting percentages of the usa team their loss of only 6 points was an indication of their superior talent...they were outshot 62 to 50 percent and only sank 59% from the free throw line...i really think fiba should change the single elimination format for the semis and finals so fluke winners would be more far-fetched...best of three would make the americans probable winners in their recent losses in the international scene
Hello dear!

That is why the Greeks, in ancient times, did not have professional players and sport people! Everyone had his profession and when needed, they were involved in politics, sports, wars, etc.! And they managed to create great civilization and democracy!

I agree with you!
i would rather send the atlanta hawks or new york knicks than the "bestcollegeteam" because even the bestcollegeteam couldnt beat the worst NBA team. We didnt send our greatest, that is easy to see. This year it wasnt because they declined to play, it is because they weren't invited. Coach K invited who HE thought should play, why else would JJ Reddick be on the team? Or Adam Morrison? That is ridiculous...
no they only get good players

Why are so many NBA players wanting to leave for Europe now?

Andre Kirilenko might leave, Jasikevicius has left, Marbury is considering it, Charlie Bell...I don't understand? Are overseas teams now competitive salary-wise with the NBA now?

Why are so many NBA players wanting to leave for Europe now?fan gear

Because they can get good money (upwards of $4M a year) to play half the games they do in the NBA. Also, instead of road trips to Milwaukee and Detroit you get road trips to Rome and Athens. It's a little different.

Why are so many NBA players wanting to leave for Europe now?nba draft ,nba teams

Well, perhaps they can't take the heat. But seriously, I think that some vets would like to spend their last years of career playing on a different level and game, less competitive but commanding handsome salaries. While some other players would like to experience more competition than to warm benches.
I have spent several years in Europe and I find many things totally different from the U.S. The culture and climate gives your life a new lease. You can definitely enjoy life at it's fullest there.
I know. Latin America has much hotter women. Why go to Europe? Latinas are mixed European women with darker skin, longer eyelashes, better kissers, and bigger bra size. Worth the pay cut? Si!
ohhhh after hearing some arguments i think i want to play in europe!
Some of them are from Europe. Of the rest, I imagine it's the same reasons lots of World War II soldiers never came back from Europe, and many artists go there even today. There's something about having a choice that changes the perspective of some people. Maybe it's just different strokes for different folks, eh?
Just take a look at the names you mentioned. Most of the time its because there not good enough to play in the NBA and want to jet out to Europe where they'll be treated like Jordan. With Kirilenko he just wants out of Utah.
Maybe players are starting to wise up to the fact that there's effectively very little difference between $6mil and $1mil per year?!?!

Once you've made it to the NBA and played a few seasons, what's the incentive to stay? To ride the pine while some kid one year out of high school plays what used to be your minutes??

There must be a point in every aging player's career where they think 'I've got more money than I could ever need, so why am I sitting on my *** being slowly forgotten when I could move to Italy, get fat, play 35mpg and still be treated like a hero?'

It's all about pride and a love for playing the game people.
Playing ball in Europe is a pretty sweet gig.

Not as many games, less pressure, nicer cities, and European women are very friendly.

Mean or Median?

A news article reports that of the 411 players on National Basketball Association rosters in Feb 1998, only 139 made more than the league average salary of 2.36 million. Is 2.36 million the mean or median salary for NBA players? How do you know?

Mean or Median?nba draft picks

the mean. the median is the exact middle of a list of numbers.

Mean or Median?nba playoffs ,nba teams

mean, because "average" is the same thing as mean.

they're just different words that have the same meaning.
Its the mean. Mean= average and

median= middle value of a list of values
Technically in statistics both the mean and the median (and mode) can be considered measurements of the 'average'.

In this example, however, We know that it is not median because then 205 would have had to have made more than than the average (because the median is the middle number it would need 205 players on either side).

How long does a player get payed in the EPL?

What I mean is that say for example Rooney gets paid 50,000 a week, which I think is what he gets, then does that mean he gets paid 50 grand 52 weeks a year, or only during the season, however weeks that may be. The reason is I like to compare salaries of players in Europe to NFL, NBA, and MLB salaries in the US. Also when a player is bought from one club to another does the player get any of that money, or does the club that sold the player keep it all.

There is one salary cap set by the NBA. Teams are either over the cap, under the cap or just meet the cap. Do you mean to ask which are the teams over the cap?

The salary cap for the 07-08 season is $55.630 million.

The luxury tax cut off for the 07-08 season is $67.865 million.

Going over the luxury tax is disastrous for the financial health of the franchise.

You can check total per team and each player on a team. Play around.
Well it depends if you are good are not. If you are a bench warmer, you'll probaly get the league minimum which is about $950,000.

But if you are great, like Kobe Bryant, Shaqu, D Wade, or Lebron James, you'll get paid anywere from $45,000,000 to $87,000,000.

Now if you are average that is a different story. If you are good but not great. For example, Carlos Boozer, Yoa Ming, Shane Battier, or Paul Gasol. You will get paid anywere from $1,000,000 to $15,000,000.

Hope this is enough. Do good on your project!

This is the exact page you need to look at, this will give you info like salaries that you can't find on Nba.com, then if you need more info go to Nba.com which has things like playoff experience. The nba.com also has a great history section which will compare the stats for you and give you a rundown of all time leaders etc. And if you have time, under games on nab.com, there is a cool 2k8 game that compares stats of players.
ESPN is perfect for this. Just go to an individual team and pick the Roster and pick the players. they have all the stats and even salaries.
easy, go to the team website. ex:(www.nba.com/mavericks) and somewhere it will show you every player on the teams stats

Check America's Most Wanted. I think they will have all of the info needed on this.

Should the NBA switch to non-guaranteed contracts?

The NFL is great becuase for the most part they can cut players that are no longer competetive and it wont hurt their salary cap. The NBA on the other hand is loaded with these lazy kids who have got a guaranteed contract so they can just mail it in every day without really working hard. They can talk back to their coach and even demand that the coach gets fired, which is easier for an orginization to do. The NBA needs to switch to an NFL format whereas if you suck you get cut. If you don't want to play hard, you get cut (no money). If you want to act like a clown and not listen to the coach Stephon Marburay, you get cut. Simple as that.

Does a salary cap hurt the nba?nba street

In my opinion, salary caps hurt any professional sport. It's a way of telling the teams in smaller areas that they're not good enough to do anything without some sort of bureaucratic interference. Take away the salary caps and let the teams pay what they can to their players. If a player has the skill and is well coached, he doesn't have to be highly compensated in order to win. The NCAA doesn't limit the number of top high school recruits that a givencollegecan put on scholarship and there are plenty of annual powerhouses in football and basketball. It hasn't hurt thecollegegame to have the powerhouse teams.

Does a salary cap hurt the nba?nba news ,nba teams

No not to much
well yes because they can't trade according to really what they want.
Salary caps are implemented to keep things fair throughout the league. Why have 30 teams if only the same few can actually win a championship? A teams' success should be based on their player management and teamwork, not how deep the organization's pockets are. I wouldn't want to go watch a team that has no chance of winning because their franchise isn't as wealthy as the others. Without a salary cap, teams would slowly go bankrupt and shrink the league.
No it doesn't what has hurt the NBA was expansion. It filtered the talent pool, and offered lesser quality players employment with NBA teams.

Guys like Mario Bennett, Marc Randall, and Tod Murphy played due to expansion, later they were found out to be straight garbage and released, but if there was no expansion we could have had MJ play with Vince or even KG. Think about that.

The NBA was great due to having the world best players now we can't say that, because of expansion.
Two questions with very different answers. A salary cap is necessary to keep costs in line. Otherwise ticket prices will keep going through the roof and attendance will drop. The ensuing loss of revenue will hit the weaker teams in smaller venues faster than others. Some teams will disappear and instead of 32 teams, we'll see something like 20 teams, much smaller salaries, shorter seasons, etc. Then ever so slowly, the cycle will begin anew. Now Is it better to have power house teams, like those as of old? Yes it does, on the one hand. Because it gets into the business of having teams where the players stay several seasons, even a career. They are known, everyone has favorites, attendence is always up. Or you can root for the underdog, knowing any team can beat any other team on any given night. You just must have enough parity in the league to make it competitive and not like the Celtics 11 championships in 13 years. At that point, everyone "knows" the Celtics would win and why go to the game. It got boring. Stayed that way for a while, as the league struggled to get better parity and realign the conferences, etc., to produce a better situation, where there were several strong teams (Lakers, Sixers, Celtics, Hawks, Bulls, and Phoenix to name most) fighting for the championship.
No. It hhelps tha NBA get more fans just like the NFL because it creates parody among teams.

Not only for Draft picks because a 1st round pick is worth $3.5-4 million. Cash consideration has to be within the deal also.
That only happens if the team your trading has enough salary cap space to accomodate the High Paid Player. Trading draft picks especially top picks have been a long time bait to other teams to out to look for established good additional pieces at their helm.
yes , the suns traded Joe Johnson to Atlanta for their

Has anyone perfected the jukes on this game? Cause Ive played several games and for the life of me I cant get the jukes down. I understand you hold R2 down while moving the left thumbstick, but I can never sucessfully juke out my defender.

Another thing that I cant figure out... is dunking. When Im down low in the paint, how can I dunk it? I press "square" to shoot and I usually end up doing some crazy reverse lay-up that generally misses. Is there anyway to ensure a dunk? Its frustrating to be so close to the hoop and throw up some crazy lay-up instead of getting the sure 2 points with a jam.

Why are the players' salaries in the NHL so much lower than the MBA, NFL and NBA?

Because their tv contract is barely existent compared to the other sports...with that being true, they haven't nearly the same amount of advertising revenues. Besides the NBA, they can't compare in ticket revenues, a baseball team plays twice as many games and probably can sell 50,000 tickets per home game - the NFL probably what 70-80,000 tickets per home game while a hockey team gets at best 16-19,000 at lesser prices per seat.

So much less tv revenue, much less advertising revenue and less ticket revenue = lesser salaries.

Plus hockey has a salary cap for each team that equals 2 good baseball or basketball players salaries.

Why are the players' salaries in the NHL so much lower than the MBA, NFL and NBA?nba statistics

Hockey is not as popular as professional basketball, football and baseball. Overall, NHL probably make the least out of the 4 major sports in America. Therefore, we can conclude the players wont be making as much when the whole league is not generating as much profits.

Why are the players' salaries in the NHL so much lower than the MBA, NFL and NBA?nba store ,nba teams

They dont need as much the other three need drug money, lawyer fees, bail and bond money.
hockey is an unappreciated sport. :(
You've got to love the painful truth in Jens answer, but it ALL comes down to the TV contracts. The revenue generated by the TV contracts to air games is a significant part of the money that the NBA, NFL %26amp; MLB use to pay player salaries.
Well their lovely strike resulting in a complete break-up of the league probably didn't hurt, and now that it's back in full swing they have an even steeper uphill battle if they ever want to compete for the spotlight with other major sporting leagues in the U.S. Truth be told, the NHL is #4 in America.. it's not a sport most people have played in their lifetimes (unlike Basketball, Football, and Baseball... all of which many kids grow up playing and watching throughout their adulthood). Because it's fan base is smaller, they'll never get paid what the other players make and rightfully so. Gretzky and lemieux are the only two household NHL names... I can name at least 20 from any of the other three sports, and I'm not even a big sports fan. That's the difference in pay... it's fame and fortune, and get get fortune you need the fame.
Well ok the first person does have something of the idea. With little revenue into the sport, and now a salary cap that is tied into how much is coming into the sport, you aren't going to see large salaries. Baseball has no hard cap(some would say they have a soft one with the luxury tax idea) and so with teams like the Yankees that make like millions or billions and the owner with deep pockets they can spend as much as they want. There is no rule to how much they spend, just you spend a certain amount then you are out of revenue sharing and have to pay more into it. The NFL make BILLIONS a year, they have great TV contracts and that is why even with their salary cap they can still make a lot. Not sure how the NBA does salaries, but they also make more money then the NHL.
You can spin this as you like but after suffering from years of out of control salaries hockey has found a way to keep costs under control. Too bad it doesn't translate into lower ticket prices.

For the NFL, players have a short career span with high risk pf injury so they pay them well.

Baseball is just out to lunch and I expect will suffer one day from their totally out of control spending. It's not possible for small markets to win which will eventually erode the fan base.
Because no one watches hockey pretty much south of Michigan! I'm in Texas and love hockey, but maybe only 1% of the population here cares about it...
it all depends on the ratings. NHL ratings are not as high as those of other sports, i mean i have not watched one NHL playoff game so far and im not sure if any of them have even been on TV. you have to have high ratings to actually get paid high. The salary cap might also be an issue. most teams have a very low cap and cannot sign players for 100 million dollars as in baseball or basketball. Anyway, why would you pay a player all that money when nobody is watching them play? I wouldnt do that and im sure you wouldnt either. The Stanley Cup does not mean as much as it used to, it is just a trophy that you win at the finals now. It was once the biggest trophy you can have but now, even the NCAA Championship means more than the Stanley Cup does.
It's the least popular sport of the four major sports (it is also the most entertaining and is played with the most emotion). Thank God for Canada.
First, as mentioned, the NHL doesn't make as much money as the big 3. The NHL's primary money maker is the gate. Advertising dollars for television broadcasts make a huge difference. NHL barely has a national television deal and since ratings are so poor, the prospect of getting a better one next time around aren't looking good.

Second, MLB doesn't have a salary cap. They can pay their players as much as they want and they have more to dip from.

Third, NBA has a soft "cap" and luxary tax. They can do all kinds of crap that the NHL can't, including paying a tax on all monies over the cap limit. If the NHL had this, Toronto, New York, etc would be able to jack salaries because they can afford to pay the tax.

Fourth, I don't think the NFL salaries are so much higher. They have a hard cap, too, and despite making a lot more money than the NHL their rosters are what? three times as big? More money, but a lot more pockets to put it in.
a lot less attention is payed to hockey
You think the NHL is Bad ? ... Go and Take a Look at the Salaries of MLS (Major League Soccer) players. It's a Joke.
Does it really matter? They all get paid a tonne either way.
It is relative to revenue. How much an organization brings in is a huge factor on how much you can spend on players salaries. Also in the case of the NBA, it is easier to pay 12 players as oppose to they 20 plus players on the NHL rosters.
I'm assuming by MBA, you mean MLB.

The NHL team salary cap ($44M for 06-07) aside, player salaries reflect league revenue and the NHL has the smallest revenue of the 4 'major' sports. The biggest reason for the revenue disparity is the NHL's televion package (both national and cable) revenue, which is downright anemic compared to the NFL, NBA and MLB.
Because its hockey and the only people who watch hockey are from Minnesota and Canada.

What is an NBA team allowed to spend on their player's salaries? What is the luxury tax?

The amount that is actually the "cap" varies on a year-to-year basis, and is calculated as a percentage of the League's revenue from the previous season; for instance, in 2005-06, the NBA's salary cap was approximately US$50 million per team, while in 2006-07 it is $53.135 million. Like many professional sports leagues, the NBA has a salary cap to keep teams in larger markets (with more revenue) from buying all of the top players and extending their advantage over smaller-market franchises.

While the soft cap allows teams to exceed the salary cap indefinitely by re-signing their own players using the "Larry Bird" family of exceptions, there are consequences for exceeding the cap by large amounts. A luxury tax payment is required of teams whose payroll exceeds a certain "tax level," determined by a complicated formula, and teams exceeding it are punished by being forced to pay one dollar to the League for each dollar by which their payroll exceeds the tax level. While most NBA teams hold contracts valued in excess of the salary cap, few teams have payrolls at luxury tax levels. The tax threshold in 2005-06 was $61.7 million dollars. As an example, the 2005-06 New York Knicks' payroll was $124 million, putting them almost $75 million above the salary cap, and over $60 million above the tax line, which Knicks owner James Dolan paid to the league.

The LA Lakers, I would imagine, have a high salary payout, due to Kobe Bryant. The 2000-2004 teams also has Shaq, as well as Malone and Payton in 04'.

I really can't think of any other team right now, I'll get back to this one...
I know for sure Knicks is number two ... Maybe Dallas? Especially after Kidd's trade. Thanks a lot Devean ...
The NY Knicks have the higest payroll in the league. Salary wise Shaq,Kobe, and Garnett are the highest paid.

Has the salary cap made the NBA boring?

I remember how exciting basketball was before the salary cap was instated. The Boston Celtics remind me of the old days when teams could be dominant and fearsome. You just don't see that anymore. It makes me wonder if Tim Duncan and the Spurs are frauds. I don't think that's truly the best the NBA can put out nowadays.

The salary cap doesn't even do jack anyway. The Yankees spend hundreds of millions and still haven't gotten near the World Series in years. The Knicks...omg, they haven't accomplished squat with all their luxury taxes.

If pro leagues are just trying to artificially pump up their crappy, small-market franchises, I can only imagine this will lead to disaster!

Has the salary cap made the NBA boring?nba referee

I agree. There shouldn't be a salary cap. Teams should be able to use as much money as they want as long as they have it. It is their money. Too bad for the teams without enough money. They would have more money if they had better players and sold more tickets. It would be their fault for not having good players.

Salary cap for NBA players?

What is the minimum salary cap for NBA players?

Salary cap for NBA players?nba rumors

On July 11, 2006, the National Basketball Association announced that the Salary Cap for the 2006-07 season will be $53.135 million.

But for the 2005-06 season, the tax level was set at $61.70 million. The tax level for the 2006-07 season has been set at $65.42 million. Any team whose team salary exceeds that figure will pay a $1 tax for each $1 by which it exceeds $65.42 million.

The mid-level exception is $5.215 million for the 2006-07 season and the minimum team salary, which is set at 75% of the Salary Cap, is $39.85 million.

Hope this helps.

Average salary of a NBA general manager?

Steve Kerr left his job as a NBA analyst to become the GM of the Phoenix Suns. Does anyone know approx how much money he will earn in this new position? Or the average salary of a GM in the NBA?

Average salary of a NBA general manager?nba schedules

I don't think there's any easy way to research that, so I'll guess by saying 1.5-2.0 million range for most. I think Kiki Vandeweghe was paid about 1 million when he was with Denver recently and he was considered one of the lowest paid GMs. I'm sure the high profile names like Jerry West pull in 3-4 mil. Kerr would definitely make a lot more being GM of Phoenix than being a TNT analyst, which would probably pay $500,000 tops--I bet he's probably in the $300-400K range. Plus a lot of these guys have giant egos where they think they can do a great job, just because they are good analysts. See Matt Millen, Detroit Lions, who was a fantastic color guy and quite possibly the worst GM in sports history!

NBA players salaries?nba shop ,nba teams

Ithink its either Shaq,Iverson,or garnett and that last person is dumb lebron is still at 4 million dollars cuz he hasent signed his biggest contract yet
I could be totally wrong, and am willing to stand to be corrected, but for years from about 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004... it seemed like Shaq and Kobe made the same thing from the salary cap busting Dr. Buss as both made the exact same amount which was like $35 million a year each for Shaq and Kobe while it seemed that every other NBA player made no more than the salary cap maximum. Must have been a pre 1998 strike thing where the individual salary on a salary cap was pretty much unlimited per player as Jordan earned up to $33,000,000 a year in the mid late 1990s and Shaq and Kobe probably had long term contracts stretching into the 21st century allowing each to make approximately $35 million each.

I never understood that one.

Now, Michael Finley is making $15 million a year, and has been for a number of years as a Spurs player, from Mark Cuban while I think that the Spurs pay Finley another $3 million a year, or a total of $18 million a year, which is at or below the cap... I should have read the link first before I wrote this comment. Now, that I have looked at the link, either a sports reporter misreported that Finley made $15 million from Mark Cuban in 2006-2007 (not likely with the big jump to $18 million in 2007-2008) while the Spurs are in their third year of paying Finley $3 million a year. The Spurs say, thank you Mark Cuban for releasing Michael Finley.

baypae, thanks, as it has always been reported that Finley combining his Dallas salary and his Spurs salary makes $18 million a year.

Does anyone know if Finley's salary gets counted towards Dallas' salary cap which would be the only reason that Mark Cuban released Finley which was to free up some salary cap room for Dallas.
Lebron James

What is a NBA Broadcastor's salary?

I would like to know how much they make per year.

NBA Broadcastors include Mike Fratello and Marv Albert.

Also, how much is the typical salary difference between a NBA Broadcastor of TNT and ESPN?

Also, if you know, how much does someone like Ernie Johnson Jr. or Kenny Smith make as an NBA Analyst?

I know this question is very vague, but if you could answer any portion, it would be greatly appreciated!

What is a NBA Broadcastor's salary?nba updates

espn make more only because they have to do more work being on all the espn shows, be analists, the pre and post game and the game

it is like everything in the world the longer you do it and the more fame you get the more you will get payed

a majic jhonson or marv abert would make about 100,000 a year its not bad but if they do all the other suff including the internet/blog

about 200,000

Do the salaries of NBA players increase the longer they're in the league even if they do not pr

for instance, Penny Hardaway, he's in the top 25 highest salaries for NBA players for the past 4-5 years (i dunno about this current season but previous ones). the 04-05 season, he was the 9th highest paid player in the entire NBA at 14 million and he makes 2-7 point per game and is not a starter. i guess he was injured(?). i'm just curious why teams will pay someone who is either not producing or has been injured for the past 5 years that high of a salary. is there seniority in the NBA as far as the salary goes? so if someone in their prime was highly paid but 10 years later, they don't produce, do u have to keep increasing the players salary?

Do the salaries of NBA players increase the longer they're in the league even if they do not produce?nba draft prospects

They signed a big contract for multiple years (long contracts are 7 years)

Penny signed one while he was producing but then all his injuries caught up with him and he wasn't worth it but the contracts are guaranteed

after that salary ends if they aren't worth it you don't have to increase it players can willingly take a pay cut as well to try and get more money for teamates like Shaq and Garnett did

a good example of not increasing salaries is Karl Malone he was very well paid for most of his career but then came off of a big contract and signed a vet minimum contract with the lakers for about 1 million

after a contract ends the maximum contract after that one goes up so the potential to get more money is there but if you aren't a max player you aren't getting the money

Do the salaries of NBA players increase the longer they're in the league even if they do not produce?nba 2k ,nba teams

Hardaway signed his 7 year deal to leave orlando after his injuries but at that time there was still hope he's recover and return to form. Report It

maybe the deal of the contract they signed... IDK =(

New York Knicks NBA Salaries?

http://hoopshype.com/salaries/new_york.h...

Can someone please break these salaries down because I see some overpaid players on here. I can't believe Stephon Marbury is making 20million.

New York Knicks NBA Salaries?nba power rankings

Stephon Marbury - 20 million per year. He is a good scorer but this high of a salary should be giving to elite players only.

Players that should earn around 1-2 million only with there play.

Jerome James earns 5.8

Jared Jeffries 5.6

Zach Randolph %26amp; Eddy Curry also get too much money for there play.

I think only Nate Robinson %26amp; David Lee are the only Knicks which has good value basketball wise for money.

New York Knicks NBA Salaries?nba ballers ,nba teams

It is all Isiah Thomas's fault. He maxed out Marbury's contract. Took on Randolph's contract. Signed Eddy Curry to a large deal and did the same for Q-Rich. He has no clue how to run a team.
Another display of mis-management by the Knicks
It's called Isaiah Thomas.
i know and that poor david lee hasnt even hit the one mill mark cuz of his damn contract-i say he deserves the 20 mill cuz he puts in the effort of a good player and he delived intensity..i hate losers like marbury-no loyalty

NBA Salaries?

Who are the NBA top paid players

NBA Salaries?nba live 2008

Kevin Garnett is the highest paid at 21 million.

Allan Houston, Michael Finley, Shaquille O'Neal and Chris Webber round out the top 5.

See link for top 30 players.

NBA Salaries?nba live 2005 ,nba teams

kG HAS THE MOST AT 21MIL...
Top 5 Highest NBA salary of 2006-2007

Kevin Garnett $21M

Shaq $20M

Jalen Rose $18.441M

Jason Kidd $18.084M

Jermaine O'Neil $18.084M
Kevin Garnett

Chris Webber

Allan Houston

Michael Finley

Shaq

.....in That Order
Although he is retired, Allan Houston is still being paid $20 mil this year by the Knicks, so therefore the 1st answer is correct. NBA contracts are guaranteed, so therefore the contract Webber signed still pays him what he signed for, and just because the Pistons are paying a prorated portion of the contract acquired when Philly released Webber, he's still getting paid what he signed for. Therefore, again, the 1st answer is correct......Just a lil' food for thought for the previous answer!
Some one already has the answer on here for you but I just want to comment on the first answer you got.....where the hell did he get those numbers? Houston is retired, he must not know much about the NBA to have him on his list and Chris Webber is now with the Pistons and took a huge paycut because he wants a ring, I think he only made 500,000 this year.
